Parenting tips, college prep, and the real stuff nobody tells you — all in one place.
Hey! So Glad You're Here.
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Tiffany. I’m 48 and a mom to three kids, ages 23, 19 (almost 20), and 11. I’ve been divorced and remarried, and I’ve had several pivots in my career. One of those pivots is something I truly loved. I taught high school for 15 years.
While I primarily taught math, I also taught a class called AVID. Through that work, I began training other high school teachers, counselors, and administrators on how to prepare students for college. I also became the teacher students came to when they needed help talking through post high school life. We talked about what comes next, how to pay for college, what classes actually matter, and how to make smart decisions early. I’ve helped multiple students get paid to go to college, which yes, is possible. I taught mini classes for students going through the admissions process, toured countless colleges, took students on campus visits every semester, and spent years talking directly with admissions counselors.
The advice I share does not work for every situation. Some of it you might not like to hear, and that’s okay. You don’t have to read this. But I’ve raised two kids who graduated or are graduating early, both completely debt free. My two oldest are girls, and we actually had good relationships when they were teenagers. That doesn’t mean I was a pushover. I had expectations and rules their friends didn’t have, and while they didn’t always love them at the time, both have thanked me later. My son is being raised with the same core guidelines. He’s definitely different, because boys are their own species, and I’ve had to adjust along the way, but the foundation still works.
While I work full time in a job I truly enjoy, my passion has always been teaching and guiding others. This felt like the most natural way to share everything I’ve learned through parenting, teaching, and all the in between seasons of life. That’s how Words to Live By, Big Mom Energy came to be. I’m really glad you’re here.
How I Live
I wake up early to prioritize my peace, get stronger in the gym, stay wildly organized, and read obsessively, all so I can show up more present for my kids and more aligned with my purpose.
I also believe deeply in the power of manifestation and mindset, and how tapping into those tools can transform your reality.
Why I’m Here
